Setup guide
From “I like it” to live, step by step.
Everything you need to do is on this page — about 15 minutes in total, most of it copy-and-paste. No website or domain yet? No problem — you can go live on a free address today and add your own domain whenever you like. Want a hand? Ask the chat assistant — the Questions? Ask us button, bottom right — for step-by-step help at any point, including checking whether your domain is set up. Or reply to any of our emails, or book a 10-minute call and we'll do it with you on a screen-share.
- 1 · Look at your new websiteOpen the link from our email on your phone and your computer. Want anything changed — wording, services, photos, your logo? Just reply to our email with what you'd like. Changes are included.
- 2 · Claim itTap Claim this site in the bar at the top of your concept (or go to quietmountainlabs.com/start). Fill in your name and email — that's it. You'll get an email within minutes with your checkout link and what happens next.
- 3 · Start your planPay securely through Stripe for the plan you picked: $39/month for the website, or $89/month with the chat helper — month-to-month, no setup fees. Stripe emails your receipt. You'll get a welcome email from us straight after.
- 4 · Choose where it livesOption A — keep the free address (
yourbusiness.quietmountainlabs.com): nothing to do — your site is live there the moment you start your plan. No domain needed.
Option B — your own domain (www.yourbusiness.com, recommended): one you already own, or a new one we help you register in your name (about $12/year, paid to the registrar). Enter it on the connect page. Don't change anything yet — within minutes we email you the exact records to add. - 5 · Add the records from our email (Option B, about 10 minutes)Sign in wherever your domain is managed (not sure where? type your domain into the domain check — it tells you). Our email has two parts:
Step 1 — verification records (TXT). They only prove the domain is yours and change nothing else.
Step 2 — the website record (CNAME forwww). This pointswww.yourbusiness.comat your new site. Then forward the bareyourbusiness.comtohttps://www.yourbusiness.com.
Click-by-click steps for GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Cloudflare and Wix are on the connect page. - 6 · You're liveWe watch for your records and email you the moment the site is live — usually within minutes of step 2. The padlock (https) is set up automatically.
- 7 · After you're liveTap the call button on your phone once to check it rings you. Quote requests from the site arrive in your email — reply to them like any customer email. That's it — you're open for business online.

Already have a website?
Nothing changes on it until the www record points to your new website, and your email is never touched. Keep your existing hosting until you've seen the new site live, then close that account whenever you like (keep the domain and email).
If something looks off
It says a “www” record already exists
It points to an existing website or your provider's parking page. Edit that record instead of adding a new one (or delete it and add ours) — there can only be one
www record. If it's type A or AAAA, delete it and add the CNAME.I added everything but the check isn't green yet
DNS changes take 5–30 minutes to show, occasionally a few hours. Check the spelling of
sites-origin.quietmountain.ai, and on Cloudflare make sure the www record is set to DNS only (grey cloud). Still stuck after an hour? Reply and we'll look.I can't find “Forwarding” for the bare domain
Skip it and reply to our email — we'll set it up with you. Your site already works at www.yourbusiness.com without it.
My domain is connected to Wix / Squarespace / another website builder
Anything you built there stays in that account; you only point the domain to your new website. Some builders make you “disconnect” the domain first — our connect page has the steps, or we'll do it with you.
I don't have a domain yet
No problem — keep the free address, or we'll help you pick and register one in your name (about $12/year, paid to the registrar — you own it).
Will my email stop working?
No. We never touch your MX (email) records, and none of the records we ask for affect email.
How quickly does my website appear?
Within minutes of the
www record pointing to us, with its padlock set up automatically. If you already have a website, there's no gap — the verification records change nothing, and your new website answers the moment www points to us.Do you need my password?
Never. You stay logged in to your own accounts; on a screen-share we just tell you what to click.
Who owns the website and the domain?
The domain is always yours — point it anywhere, any time. Your content is yours too, and the website is yours to keep after 12 paid months.
